Tongdak | Our Story
Old-school Korean fried chicken done right
Tongdak is a Korean fried chicken spot on Gerrard Street East in downtown Toronto. The menu is focused, the chicken is the point, and everything else follows from there.
The restaurant
Tongdak sits at 50 Gerrard Street East, right in the heart of downtown Toronto. It's a chicken-first spot — built around Korean fried chicken, sandwiches, sides, and sauces, nothing more, nothing less.
Butterfly, garlic, two sauces
The signature Tongdak is a butterfly whole chicken served with fried rice cake, fried garlic, and your choice of two sauces. It's the dish the restaurant is named after, and it's the one to order first.
The full menu
Beyond the Tongdak, there's the Drumking Meal — a whole chicken leg with rice or fries and a sauce — plus the Chick Queen Box and a lineup of sandwiches. The menu is tight by design.
Jin Park in the kitchen
Owner Jin Park has spent over ten years in the culinary industry, and that experience shapes how Tongdak runs. The focus is on getting the chicken right, every order, every day.
